KATSINA BANS NIGHTCLUBS: HISBAH BOARD CITES MORAL, SECURITY CONCERNS

In a sweeping move that’s bound to shake up Katsina’s nightlife, the state’s Hisbah Board has ordered an immediate shutdown of all nightclub operations across the region.

The announcement came Wednesday from Hisbah Commander-General Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), who framed the ban as essential for preserving Islamic principles and protecting the moral fabric of society.

The crackdown isn’t just about values – security concerns are also driving the decision.

“We are committed to building a morally upright society and ensuring peace and security in Katsina State,” Usman declared, making it clear that this isn’t just a suggestion.

The board has already put teeth into the enforcement, coordinating with the state Commissioner for Internal Security and other security agencies to ensure nightclub owners comply – or face consequences.

Those thinking about testing the waters should think twice. The Hisbah Board isn’t mincing words about enforcement, warning that “violators would face strict penalties.”
