Joeboy Claps Back at Critics Labeling His Music as “Mid”

Nigerian singer Joeboy has addressed critics who have described his music as “mid,” asserting that his life and career are far from average. Speaking on the podcast Backstage Banter, the Baby hitmaker dismissed the term as a meaningless trend used to demean others.

“There is nothing ‘mid’ about my existence,” Joeboy said. “The fact that I have been able to get so far at such a young age in my career and still have my head on my shoulders is not ‘mid’ in any way.”

Joeboy suggested that the criticism stems from personal dissatisfaction among his detractors. “I feel like the people criticizing me are generally not happy with life.

Because if you’re genuinely happy with your life, you would not pick up your phone and start attacking somebody,” he stated.

He also questioned the overuse of the term “mid,” arguing that it has become a buzzword lacking real meaning.

“What exactly is ‘mid’? I think it was just a word that got too popular, and people just started using it,” Joeboy added.
