Jay-Z has detailed claims that his Jane Doe accuser admitted to being pressured by attorney Tony Buzbee to falsely name him in a now-dismissed civil lawsuit alleging sexual assault. Private investigator Charlotte Henderson filed an affidavit on March 5 stating she met with Jane Doe on February 21, 2025, in Alabama, where the woman allegedly confessed that Buzbee “pushed” her to sue Jay-Z despite her initial accusations targeting only Sean “Diddy” Combs.
According to Henderson’s account, Jane Doe said she told Buzbee she was r@ped by Diddy in 2000 but claimed the attorney “brought Jay-Z into it” and urged her to file a case against both men. Henderson stated Jane Doe clarified that while Jay-Z was present at the party where the alleged assault occurred, he “was not involved.” The lawsuit collapsed last month after media outlets exposed inconsistencies in her claims.
Henderson’s meeting occurred a week after the case was dropped. She alleged Jane Doe told her Buzbee contacted her “shortly before” the dismissal and falsely claimed Jay-Z was “threatening to kill her,” which the woman cited as her reason for withdrawing the suit. Henderson noted Jane Doe repeatedly insisted Jay-Z “never assaulted her” but refused to sign an affidavit confirming this, asking, “But how does this help me?”
A second investigator, Ian Pillinger, submitted an affidavit revealing Jane Doe had been in a mental health facility 90 days before Buzbee sent a demand letter to Jay-Z. The rapper is now suing Buzbee for extortion and has filed a separate malicious prosecution lawsuit against both Buzbee and Jane Doe.
Buzbee denied the allegations, telling TMZ: “Each assertion is flat-out false and made up. Jane Doe called referring counsel, the Ava Law Group, and alleged she was assaulted by P. Diddy and Jay-Z before her case was EVER referred to our firm. That’s indisputable… None of the actual documentation supports that false story that Jay-Z’s team is trying to sell the public.”
