The Former President Muhammadu Buhari has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, celebrating their years of political friendship. In a telephone conversation with him on Friday, Buhari congratulated Tinubu and wished him long life, good health, and a successful administration.
In a statement made through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari noted Tinubu’s pivotal role in the formation and success of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reports from gistreel said that he also acknowledged Tinubu and other party leaders for standing by him during his ascendancy to the presidency after repeated failed attempts.
Reflecting on Tinubu’s legacy in Nigerian politics, Buhari described him as a “party stalwart, staunch activist, party organizer, builder, reliable ally, and serial winner of democratic elections.”
“The annals of this country will not be complete without recognizing the varied and numerous roles of President Tinubu—as an entrepreneur, a party stalwart, a staunch activist, party organizer, party builder, a reliable ally, and a serial winner of democratic elections. I am truly proud of my association with Asiwaju,” Buhari stated.
“When Nigerians handed the baton of leadership to the APC in 2015, it was a mandate to lay the foundation for a new Nigeria, where the poor have opportunities for a better future. I am glad that the vision is not lost. It was a victory for all who wish the country well,” he added.
