Suspected bandits on Monday stormed Dogon Ruwa Community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, abducting a husband, his wife, and their child, and taking them to an unknown location. The attack, which occurred at about 11 a.m., also left two people injured. According to local sources, the assailants arrived in the community and opened fire indiscriminately, causing panic among residents. Many fled for safety as the gunmen seized the family before escaping.
Confirming the incident, a youth leader in the area, Shapi’i Sambo, stated that security personnel and local vigilantes had mobilized to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
“The gunmen arrived when people were going about their daily activities. They started shooting sporadically, forcing residents to flee. Unfortunately, a man, his wife, and their child were taken away,” Sambo said, adding that the attackers were armed with sophisticated weapons.
The injured victims have been taken to a hospital in Dogon Ruwa for treatment. However, as of the time of filing this report, the Plateau State Police Command had yet to comment on the incident.
