Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has announced a major system upgrade, transitioning to a new suite of Finacle Core Banking applications, which will result in service disruptions from Sunday, October 13, to Monday, October 14, 2024.
This upgrade, aimed at enhancing customer experience through advanced technology, will affect GTBank’s 32.8 million retail customers, with branches closing early on Friday, October 11. Several Nigerian banks, including Access Bank, Sterling Bank, and Zenith Bank, have also experienced challenges during similar system migrations, reflecting the complexity and risks involved in such transitions.
