The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, arrived in Milan, Italy, on Wednesday for a series of official engagements, including a key meeting with Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region.
According to a statement from the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike departed Abuja on Tuesday night and arrived in Milan at 4:30 a.m. Nigerian time on Wednesday, where he was received by Ambassador Mustapha Mohammed, Nigeria’s Charge d’Affaires in Italy.
The visit is focused on exploring collaboration opportunities in agriculture and vocational education, as well as engaging with agribusiness investors. Lombardy, Italy’s most economically significant region, has a population of about 10 million and is the second-largest region in the EU by GDP.
During the trip, Wike will discuss strategic partnerships with the Lombardy government and meet with agriculture investors and vocational training experts to unlock new economic opportunities for the FCT.

- Lawan Geidam – FCT Mandate Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development
- Dr. Udo Samuel Atang – Senior Special Assistant on Administration
- Barrister Benedict Daudu – Senior Special Assistant on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation
The visit aims to strengthen international cooperation and attract investments to drive development in Nigeria’s capital territory.
