The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old pastor, Ijebor Simon, and 23-year-old Destiny Okojabhole for their alleged involvement in the gruesome murder of seven-year-old Evans Okojabhole in Irrua, Edo State. According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Moses Yamu, the case was reported by the victim’s father, John Okhojibole, who resides on Jehovah Witness Road, off Elebesunu Street, Irrua.
The police disclosed that the mutilated remains of the young boy were discovered 24 hours after he was declared missing, with his stomach ripped open, feet severed at the ankles, and some fingers cut off, before being dumped in a nearby bush. Following an initial investigation, operatives of the Irrua Divisional Headquarters arrested Pastor Ijebor Simon and Destiny Okojabhole as prime suspects. The duo has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) in Benin City for further interrogation.
Authorities have assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the heinous crime.
