Donald Trump to Sign Over 200 Executive Actions on First Day as 47th U.S. President

Donald Trump, the 78-year-old president-elect of the United States, is preparing to make history by signing more than 200 executive actions immediately after his inauguration on Monday, January 20, 2025. Trump, who defeated Democrat Kamala Harris in the November elections, will succeed incumbent President Joe Biden.

According to reports from Fox News Digital, Trump’s first-day agenda includes 50 executive orders, many of which focus on border security, domestic energy production, and federal workforce reforms. The incoming president also plans to declare a national border emergency, effectively closing the southern U.S. border, while the northern border’s status remains unclear.

Jason Miller, a senior adviser for the Trump administration, revealed that the executive actions will be issued as part of a sweeping series of “omnibus” directives.

Trump had previously indicated his intent to sign at least 25 orders on his first day.

“This is a massive, record-setting, unmatched first wave,” a senior official said.

“This is the most extensive list of executive actions in American history, all guided by a relentless commitment to deliver on the campaign promise.”

Among Trump’s controversial plans is a proposed order ending automatic citizenship for children born in the U.S. to undocumented immigrants, a move likely to face legal challenges as it conflicts with the 14th Amendment. Additionally, Trump has vowed to initiate mass deportations, starting in Chicago, and to suspend security clearances for 51 national security officials allegedly involved in the Hunter Biden laptop controversy.

Other notable actions include withdrawing the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accord, halting government offshore wind leases, ending the Biden administration’s electric-vehicle mandates, and prioritizing domestic oil production.

“I want to be a dictator for one day because I’m gonna get going with, ‘Drill, baby, drill,’” Trump said during his campaign. “After that, I’ll never be a dictator.”

Trump’s federal workforce policies will mandate a return to in-office work for government employees, hire workers based on merit, and warn federal staff to comply with his directives or face termination.

“There is a massive federal workforce that has been moving its objectives at the expense of the American people,” a senior official stated.

“President Trump is taking command, saying, ‘You will serve the American people and only the American people.’

This is about stopping corrupt, abusive behavior and refocusing the government on its fundamental duties.”
