President Trump Considers Pardon for Diddy, Citing Past Hostility

The 47th U.S. President, Donald Trump, has addressed the possibility of granting a pardon to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs amid his recent legal troubles. Trump made the comments during a Friday interview on Newsmax’s “Finnerty,” where the conversation shifted to Diddy’s recent federal conviction. Diddy was found guilty on two counts under the Mann Act, which prohibits transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. However, he was acquitted of more severe charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Acyn who post on X revealed that when directly asked about a presidential pardon for Diddy, Trump responded, “I was very friendly with Diddy once. We got along great. He seemed like a nice guy.” However, Trump then added that he didn’t know Diddy well and that the rapper had been “very hostile” toward him during his presidency and election campaigns. “That type of thing can cloud our judgment sometimes,” Trump noted, adding that Diddy’s past comments made it “more difficult to do.” The president stopped short of a definitive position, stating that he would need to see the full details before making a decision, but his comments suggested that a pardon was unlikely. Meanwhile, Diddy remains in legal limbo, awaiting a ruling on his latest motion for bail and a sentencing hearing scheduled for October. The Mann Act conviction alone could lead to a significant prison sentence. Q: Sean Diddy Combs. Would you consider pardoning him?  Well, he was essentially, I guess, sort of half innocent. Probably— I was very friendly with him but when I ran for office he was very hostile and it’s hard. So, I don't know, it's more difficult. Q: More likely a no?… pic.twitter.com/FrrzquR6qs — Acyn (@Acyn) August 2, 2025

Nigerians Advised to Follow US Visa Rules to Avoid Travel Restrictions

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has called on Nigerians traveling to the United States to strictly follow the terms and conditions of their visas. This advisory comes amid growing concerns from U.S. authorities about the misuse of visas, which could lead to widespread travel restrictions on Nigerians. In a statement signed by NIS spokesperson AS Akinlabi, the NIS warned that violating visa rules could result in serious consequences, including visa revocation, deportation, and permanent ineligibility for future travel to the U.S. The statement emphasized that security screening by U.S. authorities continues even after initial entry. Common Visa Violations and Penalties The advisory specifically addressed common issues for two of the most frequent categories of Nigerian travelers: students and tourists. For students: The NIS cautioned that students must remain in active study. “Withdrawal, absenteeism, or change of academic program without notification may lead to visa cancellation and loss of future eligibility,” the statement warned. For tourists: The agency highlighted the U.S. government’s strict stance on “birth tourism.” The advisory noted that U.S. consular officers will deny tourist visa applications if they believe the primary purpose of travel is to give birth in the United States to secure American citizenship for the child. The NIS reaffirmed its commitment to working with the U.S. mission in Abuja to promote lawful travel and ensure that Nigerian citizens remain compliant with U.S. immigration regulations.

Kemi Badenoch Discloses Detachment from Nigerian Identity

UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has disclosed that she no longer feels connected to Nigeria. In an interview on the Rosebud Podcast on Friday, Badenoch said that her Nigerian passport has not been renewed since the early 2000s. She explained that while she occasionally keeps up with events in the country, the UK feels more like home, where she lives and works. “I have not renewed my Nigerian passport, I think, not since the early 2000s,” Badenoch said. “I’ve never quite felt that I belonged there. I don’t identify with it [Nigeria] anymore, most of my life has been in the UK, and I’ve just never felt the need to.” Badenoch, who was born in Wimbledon, South West London, returned to the UK after spending some years in Nigeria. This decision, she said, was made by her parents who believed there was no promising future for her in the country. “I think the reason that I came back here was actually a very sad one, and it was that my parents thought, ‘there is no future for you in this country’.”
