Just a few episodes into season three of Netflix’s reality show Young, Famous & African, Nigerian actress Annie Idibia has found herself at the center of controversy, with viewers demanding her removal from the series. Fans have raised concerns about Annie’s mental health and her heated clashes with co-stars Zari Hassan and Ini Edo, which have sparked widespread debate on social media.

The confrontations, including one particularly intense moment involving Zari and Ini, have drawn significant backlash. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), fans have expressed mixed emotions about Annie’s behavior on the show.

One user, @Oyinash_, called for her exit, writing:

“Please get Annie Idibia off Young, Famous & African. It’s not healthy for her, and it’s not healthy for us, the viewers, either.

This is insane. Asides her being a horrible person, she’s also being bullied. Please, it’s enough.”

The tweet quickly gained traction, with many echoing the sentiment. Some fans suggested Annie might be struggling emotionally or possibly self-medicating.

Elsie_Finegeh wrote: “Everyone is saying she’s ‘the content’ until she runs mad on set 😭.”

usual_antics added: “Something is wrong. I feel like she’s also self-medicating. She’s been through a lot, and it shows in how she treats other people.”

While some viewers expressed concern for Annie’s well-being, others accused her of toxic behavior, arguing that she needs to take accountability for her actions.

beautinstigator commented: “Nobody is bullying her. You see how Zari was all up in Kefilwe’s business, and when Kefilwe gave her the vim she was looking for, Zari stood 10 toes.

That’s what Annie needs. You can be the villain, but you have to maintain that aura when people bite back.”

Others speculated that Annie’s presence on the show might be intentional to fuel drama and increase viewership.

GloryumorenO wrote: “They need someone to take the ‘hit’ and make the ‘buzz’ for the season. They won’t take her out! I feel so terrible for her. She needs to heal! The toxicity can’t be ordinary.”
