BREAKING: Lagos Court Orders Oba Otudeko To Appear For Trial Over Alleged ₦30bn Fraud

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered businessman, Oba Otudeko, to appear before it and enter a plea in the ₦30 billion fraud charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The trial judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, on Monday, ruled that Otudeko must be arraigned before any application challenging the jurisdiction of the court can be taken. The EFCC had earlier filed a 13-count charge against Otudeko and three others over an alleged fraudulent loan transaction.

However, at the hearing, the judge maintained that the defendant must plead first before any jurisdictional objection would be heard.

Following this ruling, the court adjourned the case until May 8.
