Nollywood actress Bolaji Ogunmola has shared her emotional struggles, revealing that while she appears strong, she is battling internal challenges. In a candid Instagram post, Ogunmola expressed disappointment over not receiving a Valentine’s Day proposal.
“I am acting strong, but deep down, them never ask me to be their Valentine ooo!! O chim. At least we are watching Summer Rain on Valentine’s Day for the pain.
I am not OKAY, but at least I’ll be outside with beautiful ladies watching Summer Rain, but I am really, really pre-happy.
Let me just warn you, people, if anybody tensions me, I’ll block you!!!! Don’t anger me further,” she wrote.
Defending YouTube Films and Her Most Challenging Role
In a separate interview with The Nation, Ogunmola addressed misconceptions about Nollywood films produced for YouTube, asserting that the platform has become a hub for high-quality storytelling.
“People’s misconception about YouTube movies is that they are low standard, but they are not. The platform has given a lot of filmmakers the opportunity to tell great stories and showcase their work to a global audience,” she explained.
She also spoke about her upcoming theatrical release, Summer Rain, set to hit cinemas on February 7, 2025. Ogunmola described it as her most challenging role to date.
“Summer Rain is definitely my most challenging role so far. You’ll get to see it in cinemas, and you’ll understand why. It pushed me in ways I’ve never experienced before.”
Balancing Work and Personal Life
As a producer, Ogunmola shared the fulfillment she derives from seeing her creative ideas come to life.
“As a producer, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing your idea or story come to life. It’s an incredible experience to create something meaningful,” she noted.
Despite her busy schedule, she emphasized the importance of taking breaks and maintaining faith in her journey.
“I take time off from time to time. I trust God and the vision He has given me. Like I always say: always a lesson, never a failure,” she said.
