Nigerian street-hop singer Portable has publicly criticized veteran Fuji singer Saheed Osupa for taking his song off streaming platforms for copyright violation. Portable ranted against Osupa in a viral clip as shared by Oyindamola on Wednesday, criticizing him for reporting his song, which was then taken off Spotify and Apple Music.
The controversy emerged after Portable employed a quote from Osupa’s song, with the Fuji legend and his distribution company filing complaints against him. In reaction to the ban, Portable took a shot at Osupa for failing to support his music career, describing him as “big for nothing.”.
He contrasted Osupa’s attitude with that of a fellow Fuji icon, Pasuma, who had been more accommodative in his view.
“Saheed Osupa, you are big for nothing. If you can’t embrace me, I will drag you. You sing Fuji while I sing hip hop. The same way I used a line from your music is the same way I removed three verses from Pasuma. But Pasuma never report my song. Keep your distance if you can’t embrace me like the way Pasuma abducted me like his own child. Osupa is a good man,” he stated.
