Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed Barrister Mohammed Sani as the new Head of Civil Service, replacing Yahuza Haruna, who has been reassigned as the Chief Economic Adviser to the governor. Barrister Sani, a seasoned legal practitioner and administrator, previously served as the Permanent Secretary, Establishment in the Office of the Head of Civil Service. In his new role, he is expected to enhance efficiency and professionalism within the Bauchi State civil service.
Meanwhile, Yahuza Haruna, an expert in economic planning and policy, will provide strategic guidance to the government on sustainable development. He will work closely with the State Economic Management Team to coordinate inter-sectoral economic policies and monitor the progress of government programs.
Additional Board Reshuffles
In a related development, Governor Mohammed also redeployed and swapped the chairmen of two educational institution governing boards:
- Dr. Abubakar Dahiru Bauchi, previously the Chairman, Governing Board of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, now heads the Governing Board of AD Rufai College of Education, Legal and Islamic Studies, Misau.
- Senator Lawan Gumau, formerly the Chairman of AD Rufai College, now takes over as Chairman of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi.

Confirming the appointments, the governor’s spokesperson, Mukhtar Gidado, stated that the changes reflect the administration’s commitment to enhancing governance, strengthening the civil service, and improving economic management. The new appointees are scheduled to be sworn in on Wednesday morning.
