Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, born Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, has opened up about her past as a social media troll before gaining fame. The 22-year-old artist shared that she once managed a dedicated fan page for rapper Nicki Minaj.
Since rising to stardom, Ayra Starr has been candid about her experiences with online bullying. She has been targeted by trolls who criticize her fashion choices and postures. In a previous response to the trolling, she humorously remarked that her “bad postures” were a result of the weight of carrying Afrobeats singlehandedly.
She revealed this during an appearance on the I Said What I Said podcast, hosted by Feyikemi Abudu and Jola Ayeye.
“I had a troll page, I had a Nicki Minaj fan page before I became Ayra Starr,” she said.
