Asake has responded after his father, Fatai Odunsi, accused him of abandoning him. There was a widely shared video featuring Odunsi, who has a partial stroke, making a plea for money to Nigerians. He claimed to have last seen his son in March 2022, when his health issues began.
In responding to the allegations in a freestyle video as shared by hypetribe he released on Friday, Asake was upset about the turn of events, emphasizing that it is not feasible to make everyone happy. He announced the news that despite his consistent financial support, his father still kept attempting and bothering him. The artist also grumbled that, after his incessant efforts, some people seemed determined to complicate his life further.
“You can’t please humans, you can’t please the world. Whatever you do, do it for God. My own father wants to cajole me even though I have always sent him a lot of money. I have struggled for so many years, yet they want to make life hard and exhausting for me,” Asake freestyled in a mixture of Yoruba and English.
