Nigerian singer Asake, whose real name is Ololade Ahmed, has finally responded to commentator Naijashimadun (Emmanuel Philip) after being called out for his accent at the 67th Grammy Awards.
Earlier, Naijashimadun criticized Asake for speaking in what he called a “Pakistani” accent during a red carpet interview.
The video quickly went viral, sparking reactions online. Asake, seemingly unbothered, addressed the situation in a social media story.
Rather than engaging in direct confrontation, Asake praised Naijashimadun for his contributions to the creative industry in Nigeria.
However, many fans believe the singer’s response was a subtle jab, prompting social media users to drag the commentator.
During his Grammy red carpet moment, Asake described himself as being in his “military phase” and shared that he dresses according to his mood.
He even joked about waking up one day and removing all his tattoos, leaving the interviewers amused.
