Anthony Joshua Appointed Ogun State Sports Ambassador During Courtesy Visit

British boxing champion and former two-time unified heavyweight titleholder, Anthony Joshua, visited Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun at his office in Abeokuta on Monday. Accompanied by family members, the celebrated athlete received a warm welcome.  

 

As part of the visit, Governor Abiodun presented Joshua with a letter of appointment as a Sports Ambassador for Ogun State. The governor highlighted the appointment as a symbol of pride and a recognition of Joshua’s outstanding contributions to sports.

 

In a Facebook post, Abiodun stated, “Anthony Joshua’s remarkable achievements in boxing continue to inspire millions, including the people of Ogun State. His dedication, discipline, and excellence embody the values we uphold as a state.”

 

The gesture reflects Ogun State’s commitment to celebrating excellence and supporting individuals who bring pride and honour to the region.
