Annie Macaulay, ex-wife of music legend 2Baba Idibia, has at last broken silence over her divorce from the iconic singer.
The couple’s break-up initially trended on social media when 2Baba announced it via a now-deleted Instagram statement.
The news was further boosted when he went ahead to publicly announce his engagement to Natasha Osawaru, a legislator in the Edo State House of Assembly.
In a recent interview, Annie explained why she was silent about the matter, saying that she had taken a break from publicity in order to heal and introspect about herself.
“Silence is not weakness; it’s peace,” she stated. “Following my divorce from Innocent Idibia, I chose to withdraw, reflect, and recover away from the noise.
The truth is, not everything needs to be explained, and not every war needs to be fought in the open.”
Annie also spoke of the understanding of life’s ups and downs, that she is now focusing on herself, her kids, and the future.
“Love, hurt, lessons, and growth all are part of life’s journey. I have accepted mine gracefully, focusing on myself, my kids, and the future ahead of us. Sometimes, silence says a lot more than words.”
