Nigerian musician Adekunle Kosoko, widely known as Adekunle Gold, has stirred controversy with his recent statement on kindness and survival in today’s world.
In a tweet shared on his X account on Monday, the singer expressed that being overly kind could make one appear foolish. He went on to suggest that a touch of “wickedness” is necessary to thrive in life.
“Took me a while, but I can confirm now that in this life, you need a sprinkle of wickedness to thrive. Kindness go turn you to mumu,” he wrote.
The statement has sparked mixed reactions, with some fans disagreeing with his perspective.
One follower, identified as Oludotun Sunday, strongly opposed Adekunle’s analogy, calling it a “big fat lie.”
He argued that truly kind people do not regret their actions, nor do they entertain thoughts of wickedness.
“Kind people are kind and never regret their kindness. If you are wicked, you are wicked.
If you are kind, you can never wish and do not need to be wicked,” Oludotun wrote.
