“Abeg, Reduce to N5m… I No Get N1bn to Pay!” – Verydarkman Tearfully Begs Mercy Chinwo to Reduce N1.1B Lawsuit

Controversial critic Verydarkman (VDM) issued a sarcastic, tearful apology to gospel singer Mercy Chinwo after she filed a N1.1 billion lawsuit against him over Instagram posts accusing her of withholding earnings from her former record label.

In a video shared on Instagram, VDM listed seven individuals who have sued him, lamenting his inability to meet their financial demands. He then broke down theatrically, singing snippets of Chinwo’s songs and pleading with her to lower the lawsuit amount to N5 million.

“Una go kee me, the money wey dey inside the NGO sef no reach that amount. I know this case is not a case I can go on, so it is better I tender an apology. Mercy, don’t let the devil use you. I don’t have N1bn to pay in case you win. Abeg, I am not saying you should not sue, reduce the money, maybe to N5m,” he said.

The lawsuit, filed on March 3, stems from VDM’s claims that Chinwo refused to remit performance fees to her ex-label, led by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu (EeZee Tee).
